From The Editor:
My apologies to all those members who did not receive a copy of The Arrow in their mailbox last Tuesday. I think I’ve sent one to all whom asked since the issue was published. I’ve added several names to my master list but I’m sure I’ll miss a few again. An Archive has been set up to store each issue of The Arrow. Many of you will remember a time when our membership stood at around four hundred or so. Baby look at us now! At this writing we have 3131 registered members. And climbing! I can see Dilbert beaming from ear to ear as he watches that number increase. And beam he should – AIH is his baby and I know he’s proud.
Many thanks to everyone who voted and made AIH Number 1 in WebbieWorld!
I received a great response to my question asking who might be interested in being featured in our spotlight section, The Target. I have all the names on a little list and will get to each and every one of you. I am thankful for your support with this newsletter. Onward and upward!

Dilbert's Corner
I would like to welcome all the new members this week. I try to greet as many as I can, but I know that I have missed a lot of people. If I missed you that doesn't mean that you are any less welcome. We are signing up new members so quickly it's hard to keep up. In most messages I tell people that I can be reached by a-mail if they have any questions or need help. Let Amy know if there is a functionality problem (bug) and let me know if you need help navigating the site. Amy, god, Adria, and I are all here to help you as well as hundreds and hundreds of friendly and helpful people. Usually, they know much more that me.

I had one new member say that he was so late in signing up that he would never catch up to everyone else. With that in mind, I looked at the data and did some averaging. The average AIH user is still living in the desert. The average AIH user has asked 2.889 questions. The average AIH user has answered 23.49 questions. There are 2696 people still in the desert. There are only 91 in The Ghetto. The average AIHer has 189.10 A$'s and that is skewed because of some people finding treasure chests on AIH. John

Did You Know?
The English word pajama has its origin in Persian. It is a combination of the Persian words pa (leg) and jamah (garment).

Amy's Corner
On the tech-front:
A-Mail has been the subject of my programming recently. It may have been a glitch, or it may have been a deliberate attempt to gain unauthorized access, I don't know. But I can assure you I've implemented a new feature that will catch it the next time this happens. If you notice ANY suspiciously opened amail that you have not read yet, please immediately write to me with the ID of the amail and your buddy ID (the integer value, not the uID 20 character string), and I will go about cross referencing the IP of the first person to have looked at that A-Mail. If it wasn't from your ISP, then I will take further action to track who was responsible for reading that A-Mail. Also, we had a bit of a problem with some users creating multiple aliases with HTML tags as their user Handle, and altering the look and feel of the site. I have since disabled the ability to register with any html tags in the first name, last name, login name, and user handle fields. Any attempts to do so will cause registration to fail. The abuse policy also has two addendums, one in regards to hacking, the other in regards to multiple handles. A feature to allow multiple handles to be related to one user ID is in progress.

Great Quotes?
Can you guess which AIHer uttered these words of wisdom? "My therapist will be pleased - I'm getting better at looking on the bright side everyday." Answer at the end of this newsletter.

Abacab
Hey what's up. I'm a former first-round draft choice of the Cleveland Indians baseball team who left just before my first major league appearance to pursue the Fields Medal. No? OK I'll try again. Hey what's up. My name is Andy and I'm from the USA. I grew up in Pennsylvania and live currently in the nation's capital, which has accomplished the impressive feat of going over a month without a terrorist attack. I am 22 years old and have multiple family members on this site watching my every move so I must be cautious. I have a college degree in mathematics. I work at the United States Census Bureau which basically sucks, but I'm only there because I don't know what else to do with myself. I like music; I play guitar and occasionally write songs. I also enjoy computer games, playing with numbers, and making people laugh. I don't like people who: don't wash their hands when they go to the bathroom, constantly sniffle or clear their throat, take internet interactions way too seriously, and can't spell words that I learned in kindergarten. On this site I'm occasionally serious but usually I'm trying to be funny because I'd like to make your day a little brighter with my humor. If you don't like it, then you can stick it. Evil to those who think evil of it.

Silverback
Hi I'm Conrad, both here and in real life. I'm one of the masses that found AIH through the announcement in LockerGnome, I came to see what it was about and I stayed, because I found that it was good. I'm a Canadian, living in the States, and trying to figure out what life is all about. Currently, I'm a librarian, which, after being a night clerk in a couple of hotels, is a real nice change. I'm a fan of Star Trek, Charles De Lint, and cheesy movies. I think the Truman Show is one of the best movies I've ever seen. I cook, I ride my bicycle in the winter, and I can't raise a houseplant to save my life. My cat's name is Morgan, my favourite drink is a hot sake, and sushi is heavenly. I'm a frustrated romantic, my favourite colour is aqua, and in my next life, I want to be a harbour seal. My politics are liberal, pretty much everything is a matter of perspective, and magic is where you find it. Looking forward to continuing contributions to the common knowledge. Good to be here, and thanks for reading about me.

AIH Tips & Tricks
Many members have asked how to properly use HTML to create an active link in a question or answer. Below is the correct coding for an active link. Please note the use of AIH’s URL is simply for the purposes of demonstration:
<a href="http://www.ask-it-here.com">Ask-It-Here</a>
Notice there are no spaces in the above tag at all EXCEPT for one space between ‘a’ and ‘href’. It’s important to remember to close your link by always using the </a> tag at the end. If you do not close your link, everything written below that link will be clickable.
